sms read receipts option not available
hello
I have the iPhone 16 but in the settings—>apps—>messages, the “read receipts” option doesn’t exist, so I am not able to see if my sms get delivered. Could you please help me? Thank you

"Read Receipts" are not the same as "Delivered."
You will never see status messages for SMS messages unless they fail. You should see either "Delivered" or "Read" for iMessages and RCS messages. You will, however, only see read receipts if the person you're messaging has the enabled.
As to why you don't see the option to turn it on (so that other people can see when you've read a message), have you scrolled down far enough?
