app in finder but not on launchpad

I have an app (TexStudio) not downloaded from Apple Store, but perfectly working. I added the app in the Applications folder I see in Finder and, when I click on the icon, it works with no problems. I even created a shortcut to it and it works. However, I do not see the app in Launchpad. I had it there with a previous release of the app but now it is no longer there. I tried to start in safe mode but nothing changed. I even deleted the .db files in Application Support > Dock and restarted the system (I read this trick somewhere) but no way. (My Mac works nicely, for the rest).

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Maurizio

Thanks, but in the end I just uninstalled the app (with help from AppCleaner, another app) and installed it again and for some reasons now it's OK on the LaunchPad (I did try before to install it again without previously uninstalling but it didn't change anything).

I have another curiosity, though. I created a folder in LaunchPad, with 4 apps in it, and it works. However, in the Finder when I open the list of Applications I see the single apps icons but I do NOT see the folder I created. Is this normal, as far as you know? Not a real problem, but I am curious...

Many thanks for your answer, again.

Maurizio
