Too many failed passcodes bricked my iPhone

Hi all bought a shiny new 15 pro and factory reset my old iPhone 12 which I planned to gift to my son. For reasons I can't remember I put a passcode on it after factory reset and forgot it. I tried various passcodes and now the phone is locked :0( Anyone know how to get it fixed? Will Apple Genius store help?

Well … an Apple Store can … but so can you.

If you’ve forgotten your iPhone passcode or your iPhone is disabled – Apple Support (AU)
