How to get news feed to give correct country news?

Hi, I recently switched my Apple ID from the UK to Canada as part of my move. I then subscribed to News+. On my iPhone, I had to delete the old Apple news app and download it from the Canadian store for it to start giving me Canadian news instead of UK news. However, on my Mac, this option is not possible. You can't delete the app. All of my Mac's region settings are set to Canada. I've tried restarting the app/computer etc. Nothing seems to fix it. I keep getting news about the UK, even though my iPhone perfectly displays Canadian news. Any ideas?

Ok, well, this is stupid. I figured it out, but I am going to answer here in case others find this problem. For *News* to update, the app store must also update. EVEN IF YOU CHANGE YOUR REGION, the app store will not automatically flip over. You have to first try and download something in the mac app store for it to try and change regions. This will then trigger the news app to change regions too. Why this doesn't happen automatically I'll never know.
