I just received a text telling me that my apple id was used to and Apple Store in CA - I'm in Arkansas - they said I need to call 1-855-***-7*** immediately to cancel this charge - is this a scam? It also said I could go to Billing Department: https://support.apple.com/billing

That’s a phishing attempt by scammers. Do not interact with the text or email. Do not click any link or phone number from the scammers. Block the sender and delete the message.

Sounds like a phishing attempt by scammers. Confirm by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE.
Of course it’s a scam.
I received a security notice saying a payment of $178.90 was processed on my Apple ID through Apple Pay & gave the support number of (877) ***-***4 to call if unauthorized...
