USB Keyboard Losing Connection When Laptop is Plugged In to Power
I am using Ventura 13.7.1 on a Macbook 16in 2021 with an Apple M1 Pro chip. I have a Apple USB Keyboard with numeric pad that is otherwise fully functional. I use it nearly every day at home with no issue while plugged in to a basic USB-A hub using the Apple USB A to C connector. I came to my recording studio, plugged it in to a new USB hub and it was working just fine. I plugged my Universal Audio Apollo Thunderbolt recording interface which as of the last 6-9 month will only connect when the Macbook is plugged in to power and the keyboard lost connection while the other USB device is still showing as connected. I unplugged all of the devices and power and attempted to recreate the scenario where the USB keyboard was just working less than 90 seconds ago and now it will not connect at all using the exact setup it just used. This is the second time I have gone through this entire scenario. I am absolutely confident the keyboard is otherwise functioning fine as it I used it right up until I plugged power into the Macbook as well as this morning with an older USB hub and adapter as described. My only thought it that there is some type of Thunderbolt/USB conflict that is occurring since A. it only happens with this specific audio interface is plugged in (I use a smaller Universal Audio Thunderbolt unit at home) and since this unit did not always require my laptop be plugged in to power to be recognized. Please be aware the I have already gone through unplugging & plugging back in various orders multiple times so no need to suggest that unless you know a secret code to doing it. :) Thanks in advance.
