Printer will not work since updating to Sequoia

Printers (Brother, Canon) are shown to be connected but when I try to print, the computer print program says the printer is not responding. Ever since I updated to Sonoma and then to Sequoia, I have not been able to print anything. I used an older Macbook Pro with Ventura and it printed just fine. Any ideas?

The next question is to make sure they are installed in Printers & Scanners as AirPrint printers. You must explicitly specify AirPrint.

They need to have joined your wireless network, the same network as the Mac. Confirm they did with the printer's front panel settings.

Glad to hear it. I have found it beneficial to assign static IP addresses to network equipment that remains stationary, like printers. That way, they always reside at the same network location, and are less likely to become forgotten by the network. Should you decide to do that investigate each printer's network settings. It's usually something that can be controlled on the printer's front panel. Look for the specific term "Static IP" and know how to undo any changes before making them.

Or, just reboot the modem / router should it ever happen again.

They are Air Print enabled. I updated to Sonoma in October. Was troubleshooting on that and decided to upgrade to Sequoia in December. Kept troubleshooting. The printer I had was a Brother. I bought a new Brother and it didn't work. Sent it back and bought a Canon. It didn't work either. So sent it back. I have tried to use the printer on wifi and with a printer cable. Nothing works. I even tried using the Brother software to print. That worked but only with a PDF or photo. Could not screen print. But after loading Sequoia, even that doesn't work.

I'm having the same problem but with two Samsung printers. They both show up in my print center and appear to be available, but when I send a job to either printer they both switch over to "in use" and the blue printer thing just swings back and forth.

I reset the modem and router and both printers, but still no changes.

I tried removing the printers and adding them back in which gives me this message "Unable to connect to ‘SEC842519A5282C (M268x_M289x Series)._ipps._tcp.local.’ due to an error. Would you still like to create the printer?".

I'm stuck.
