iPad Pro 5th gen screen black but Siri responsive

The screen on my i pad pro 5th generation just went black two days ago. I've turned it off and on, I did the hard start, I tried a different charging cord, I've tried different outlets. It is fully charged at 100% which I know because I asked siri and siri can still talk to me. I connected it to my iMac to see if there were some diagnostics, perhaps a new software update bug? However, I can't find a way to tap into my ipad from the imac. Who has some practical advice on how to repair this myself?

If you continue to experience difficulties when connected to an appropriate Power Adapter, you might be best advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page. Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You might also visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to test and assess your iPad, Power Adapter and cable(s):
