Return to native screen resolution Air M3 Sonoma

I've tried to change resolution with different software and now i can't return to default resolution.

On System settings in Display there is no option to return to my previous resolution.

I've tried to boot in safe mode and change resolution there, but it didn't worked. I also tried some advises from stack exchange but they didn't worked either.

please help:)

Exactly which MacBook Air model and year is this computer?

Native resolution for the

In this last pic of yours, the default resolution choice will be the icon on the right with the gray outline, which I suppose is not selectable?

In your original post you stated that you ❝tried to change resolution with different software❞.

So what, exactly, was that other software?

Are you running any anti-virus, cleaning, optimizing or VPN software?

If so, you should disable and/or uninstall that as these type of apps and utilities do often interfere with the proper operation of the OS.

I think it probably best to reinstall macOS. This will not alter or erase your user files, but will simply copy a fresh set of OS files to the drive, replacing any corrupt or missing system files. However, you should backup your data just in case. How to reinstall macOS

NOTE– You should not have to delete, erase, format, partition or otherwise alter your startup disk for this. If that becomes an option, quit the process and restart your Mac. Then come back here for additional advice.

Actually, the hardware pixel resolution is 2560x1664, and your system is proposing a default of

1280x882, which seems right (a "retina" resolution with each pixel doubled for smooth text and image display).

This is how "retina" resolutions usually work. The nominal resolution is small, but images and pixels are rendered with subpixel accuracy, for a smoother result, while keeping large-ish text.

Have you restarted the computer lately?

Yes, several times

What happens when you click "Advanced" and toggle OFF the "Show resolutions as list" option? Can you not select the default resolution then from the icons?

Yes, i can. But there is no option to select native resolution.

Do you have an external monitor connected to the computer? If so, have you disconnected that and tried then to change the resolution?

No

FYI, the display's native resolution is not the macOS default resolution these days.

When you showed all resolutions in your first screenshot, the 2560 x 1644 appears to be the maximum/native resolution for the display. For some reason the sort order of your display resolutions is not sorted high to low.

If you are using some third party software that is affecting the Display, then that same software may be affecting how the macOS Display Systems Settings app is behaving here.
