How can I remove Activation Lock on iPad?

hello

my brother gave me is old ipad i have been able to reset but to activate it it's lock with a activation lock

the email associated with this ipad is an email that is no longer used

how can bypass this ?

when i speak with apple they said the mail does not exist

what can i do ?

There is no bypass and that is by design. If there was a way to bypass Activation Lock, then any thief could do that to make any device usable that they have stolen. What your brother will need to do is provide the original purchase receipt from Apple or Authorized Apple Seller to have the Activation Lock removed.

It doesn't matter that the email account isn't used anymore. All he need is to know what it is and what the password is.

That will happen when a user deletes their Apple ID and does not remove it from their device first as detailed in the Support Article:

If you forget to sign out, you might not be able to use your device when your account is deleted.
