What causes a MacBook to stop charging suddenly?

I have a MacBook Pro 13" for around 4 years now. Since June 2024, my Mac suddenly refuses to charge when plugged in. Not only that, when the charging adapter is removed from the Mac, the icon of a charger remains on the screen. I have reset the SMC, shut down, restart, and even deleted everything off the Mac as well. I have gone to specialists to see if it is an interior issue but everything seems to be completely normal. Sometimes the Mac will start charging but the icon will not disappear. I fixed the issue once by letting the Mac fully lose its battery and by not attempting to charge or use my Mac for a full day. This solved my problem for a good 6 months til now where the issue has reappeared. My battery dies down really quickly now too. If I unplug the Mac while it is shut down and starting it again, the charging sound will come on and the icon will reappear even when not plugged in. I have tried out multiple different charging adapters and outlets. Please let me know if there is a solve for this issue.

The traditional fix on intel Macs was to connect the power adapter, leave the display open, and choose Shutdown off the Apple menu. Allow to charge as it may overnight. In the morning, reset the SMC

follow the EXACT keys religiously. The keys with the same names on the other side of the keyboard are not wired in and will not do the job. No points off for SMC reset multiple times.
