Missing VIP folder in Mail app on iPad Air 5 and iPhone 15 Pro

iPad Air 5 and iPhone 15 pro, updated to latest systems and around same time, noticed my VIP folder missing from Mail app on both. Email addresses are showing the VIP star in the full list of emails. I saw an earlier thread on this recommending various actions including rebuilding the Mail older, removing someone from VIP status, and re-entering etc. none of these have worked. Interestingly the VIP list is working correctly on my linked Mac M1 desktop running latest system. Any advice appreciated. Thanks
