Ever since new update I’ve found email text suddenly disappearing half way through composing a draft. Also randomly vanishes when swapping to safari to copy a link. Never did this before.

I have previously noticed this when composing an email after clicking a link in another app, or after attempting to share a photo by email direct from the camera app photo library. The less than ideal workaround is to close the new email, respond yes to the invitation to save it in drafts, and then reopen it and compose it from drafts.
No - just disappears. This is brand new behaviour. I’m now composing in Notes and pasting to mail as a workaround. Never noticed it before.
Is the message being composed being relegated to your drafts folder when switching away from the compose window? (That would be fairly typical behavior of Mail over the last years.)
