The app nebula tried to take my money

II was notified that my cash app declined a $45 charge from Adnappnebula, luckily my card was locked. Customer support said I needed to contact Apple. Apple said they see don’t see anything like that. What is going on! I downloaded Nebula through Snapchat the other day but I never used it. Now I see several people has the same exact experience! Wonder what Apple is going to do about this? This is wild to me.

You went to their website and got a free reading that if you had seen the fine print also said that the free reading was included in your subscription. You were most likely directed to this site from a user on Social Media that was paid to get you to go there or from a website advertisement. When you sign up for any free trial, you give them your payment information, as it is standard practice for a free trial to be billed as a subscription if it is not cancelled during the trial period..

A subscription made with any third party service does not involve Apple at all. Apple can only manage a subscription when it is made with an in-app purchase. This is true for other services as well even if they also have an app. For example Netflix, YouTube, X, and SnapChat all have subscriptions that can be made directly with them to bypass Apple's ability to manage the subscription.

You will need to cancel the subscription on that same website where you were directed. If you are unable to get help from their support, then you will have to dispute the charge with the bank that issued your card and also make sure they block any further charges.

In addition, depending on the site/user that directed you there, I would warn other users there of the consequences of following any link that was suggested at that location. It has been seen frequently on Facebook and SnapChat. If there was a subscription made through an in-app purchase, it is easily cancelled here, but I am guessing that is not what was done in your case:

They took $1 then tried taking $45 what can we do?

Return to the website you visited that promised an Astrology reading. You should be able to find more information about their free trial and subscriptions along with how to cancel. If you cannot find that information, provide the link to the page that you were directed to.

Without any cooperation from the website for cancelling the subscription or for a refund if they allow it, you will need to dispute the charge with the payment method that is being charged.

Also, to protect other users, please provide any information you can on how you were persuaded to go to this site. Usually it is from a SnapChat or Facebook post where they were paid to trick you into going to this site, but sometimes it is from a website advertisement too where that company was paid to show you that advertisement.

I called and had them blocked because every **** day every were attempting to take money from me. I don’t even use the app. It’s insane that Apple isn’t doing something about these apps.

It was not Apple billing you, it was app nebula. As with others here, you were most likely directed to their website for a "free" reading and you would be billed whether you had the app or not. Any subscription made within the app is easily cancelled, because those are managed by Apple. That is not the route you took and your subscription is directly with the developer/website and bypasses Apple from being able to do anything about it.

You did the right thing by contacting the card being charged to block future charges. In addition, I would determine how you were directed to that website. Most people find it is from a user on Facebook or SnapChat and even website advertisement. That was the source of your problems.

Luckily for me, they tried to use my cash from Apple wallet so I didn’t have very much money in. On January 26, they took out one dollar from my account then at 2 o’clock in the morning they tried to take out $45. I had downloaded the app from Facebook and then never used it and deleted it because it was a scam but it’s crazy to me that they had access to my Apple wallet cash. I don’t know how they could’ve gained access to that.
