Where do I find replacement for my MacBook Air M2 screen?

So someone broke the screen on my Mac air m2, despite being only a year old at the time I missed deadline for extended coverage( why don’t they send a reminder of some type)

anyway, so this laptop I had already paid over $2500 for needs a new screen, took it to the nearest “genius” bar where they told me would be a minimum $548 starting estimate.. looked online and the resale value with a cracked screen isn’t even that much. I’d like to fix my computer but not sure where to get a replacement screen reliably, any suggestions?

You can look into Apple's Self-Service Repair program:

Self Service Repair - Apple SupportI

if available in your location, and compare costs and effort.

For a third-party source, it's going to be difficult to find any reliable source for parts, and in general the Community Hosts frown on people here posting specific links to any such sites. You'll have to look to the "fixit" sites and see what you can find, and try to find reviews of any such sites to gauge reliability. Note that even if you do find a screen, you're probably going to lose some functionality such as TrueTone, so I'd suggest you consider just biting the bullet and paying an Apple service center for the repair.

Regards.

This is likely going to take too much of your time to address. I would look into just using it as a "headless" desktop computer with external keyboard and monitor. Then buy another laptop for travel off of Ebay or from Apple's discount store. Alternatively, try selling it on ebay if you don't want it - depending upon its specs - 2TB SSD? 18G RAM?, it may sell quickly.

I wouldn't recommend buying a used Mac on eBay for the simple reason that it's way too easy to buy a computer that ends up being a door stop because it hasn't been properly released and prepped for sale.

Too many users are unaware of the necessity of this process. Some don't care. Either way, buying a used Mac from an unknown source is a bad idea.

That’s gross man. Biting the bullet and paying $600 for a screen? For a screen mind you!

I already paid over $2500 less than two years ago. You’re sick if you think that’s reasonable or makes sense or happening. It’s people like yourself why they think they can get away with it. I could get a brand new computer for that price. Some if you guys need to wake up and snap out of it. That repair can be done for under $200 I was ready for them to say $300

maybe even $400 because it’s Apple, **** they charged one of my exes $126 to replace a bad airport one time. But when he said $548 and jeep in mind that’s just an estimate with a straight face. I said thanks anyway. Bite the bullet. No more drinking before getting on support forums for you guy

Suit yourself. Pay or don't pay; it's your choice. But insulting people here who have tried to provide assistance is not a good way to get help in the future. Perhaps you are the one who should stop drinking before getting on a forum if this is how you behave. As for me, I have you on my list of people not to try and help in the future.

Don't bother to respond further. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
