Apple Lossless codec on iPhone 16promax

Recently, with the help of Apple Support, I found that I cannot load Apple Lossless format files to my iPhone 16 Pro max. Is there fix planned for the iPhone 16? Or a way to transfer large numbers of tracks to another format (not one at a time...I have hundreds of albums on my Mac's iTunes in the lossless format)?

Yes, the iPhone 16 Pro Max supports Apple Lossless Audio Codec (ALAC). To turn on Lossless Audio on an iPhone, you can:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap Music
  3. Tap Audio Quality
  4. Tap Lossless Audio to turn it on or off

You can also choose the audio quality for streaming and downloading audio. The options are:

  • Lossless: Maximum resolution of 24-bit/48 kHz
  • Hi-Res Lossless: Maximum resolution of 24-bit/192 kHz
