Does migration assistant set the file vault recovery key?

I have a new M4 MacMini that I used the migration assistant (from a Time Machine backup) for the initial setup. The prior system was a 2017 Mac Mini, and I had enabled File Vault on that system and had a Recovery key.

When I went to enable File Vault on my new system, a message indicated that I had a recovery key set by some administrator or instution.

Did the migration from my TM Backup simply carry over the previous system recovery key?

To check the status of file vault within Terminal.app copy & paste the following:

fdesetup status

Verify FileVault Recovery Key is current ....

from the Terminal.app copy and paste;

sudo fdesetup validaterecovery

(note: your psswd will not echo on screen type it in anyway, use the enter\return key to proceed.)

“Enter the current recovery key:” type or paste in the Recovery Key and Enter\Return key to continue

returns either True —if the Recovery Key the current key; False —if no
