Apple product exchange at Apple store for out-of-stock model

I purchased an Apple product at an Apple partner outlet but am unable to exchange it because the new model is out of stock. Can I exchange it at the Apple store?

If you purchased directly from Apple, in many regions/countries Apple generously offers a 14-day period within which to unconditionally return an unwanted device for exchange or refund. 


When purchased from another retailer, you have not purchased from Apple - and will likely be entirely reliant upon the good will of that specific retailer for any product exchange or refund.
