Apple Pay issues with Tap2Park in the UK

Contact Tap2Park support team if you’re having billing issues. If you find their support team unwilling to assist, dispute the charge with your bank.
Thank you Jeff. The issue is as follows. I paid for parking with Apple Pay on my iPhone with facial recognition on the firm’s website using the Safari browser, as instructed by the website. I received the immediate response, ‘contacting your bank for payment’, indicating my payment authorisation reached their server. My bank (HSBC) has confirmed they never received the request for payment. Tap2Park have now issued me a penalty and are threatening legal action for non payment despite me giving a full account of what happened, including as much evidence as possible. I’m just wondering if others are in the same position.
No one has indicated an issue with Tap2Park in my recollection. Contacting your bank for authorization means exactly that. The next response is a check mark and tone on your iPhone. The payment method you used (HSBC card) would also have a transaction record. Tap the HSBC card and scroll down to see transactions.

The best resource for payment issues is the banks app and or website. If it doesn’t show the transaction, it didn’t go through.
Apple Pay doesn’t transfer any of the funds. Apple Pay, through your iPhone and merchants payment network, only transmits and receives data. The data goes to the bank and they approve or decline a transaction and send the data back through the network to your iPhone.

Thank you Jeff. Apple Pay support did a diagnostic test on my iPhone and confirmed it is in perfect working order. The problem is the transaction does not seem to have gone further than Tap2Park’s server therefore it did not reach the bank nor appear in my Apple Pay transactions.
