Received a 16 pro last week. Running 18.2
When I receive texts from my spouse on 18.2.1 imessage shows as
Text message from (her cell #) and email. The email is not hers. It's not even a real domain.
I've deleted her contact and she sent me a contact card but it's still doing it.
She doesn't have her apple ID registered to send messages.
Any suggestions are appreciated
It's possible that you have multiple sources (accounts) for contact on your iPhone and the one with the incorrect information being matched is not the one that you are looking at. For example, you may have an iCloud account and also a Gmail account, both with Contacts.

It may be worth checking all of the information in her Apple Account and also information on file online with her cell carrier. Maybe coming from a carrier provided caller ID? I'm just guessing at this point though.
Thanks....We did all of that and have even deleted each other's contacts then recreated them.
We've searched for the email on the phone in Contacts and emails to see if it's referencing anything. It's nowhere.
