"Macintosh" Screensaver color not changing

Whenever I try to change the color of the "Macintosh" screensaver on MacOS, it doesn't work. When I set the color or brightness-type to something other than green and I run the actual screensaver or play the preview, no changes are saved and the green version is played instead. In the settings, it shows everything as the setting I want but when I close and reopen the settings app, it reverts everything back. How do I fix this?
