If your 93-year-old grandmother is accidentally touching the mute icon with her cheek during a call, it suggests she's inadvertently activating the touchscreen with her face. Taking the call on Speaker or using AirPods (or any other Bluetooth headset) can help because:

  1. Speaker Mode: Keeps the phone away from her face entirely, reducing the chance of accidental touches.
  2. AirPods/Bluetooth Headset: Allows her to hold or keep the phone away while still hearing the conversation, avoiding any unintended screen interactions.
