Reinstalling Sequoia on Mac mini M4

reboot into the Recovery screen

  • selecting the Utilities option from the menu at the top of the screen

  • go into Disk Utility option

  • For the main hard disk with the os installed, select Erase and format in APFS

  • Once reformatted, the select the installation of Sequoia

after following the above formula I got stuck on the installation window. The loading bar freezes and the timer continues to add time rather than counting down. After the countdown said “148 hrs” till completion, I gave up. Is there any reason why it would do this?

"Reinstalling Sequoia on Mac mini M4"

why was this necessary to begin with, was there some bigger issue?

those estimated times can be woefully inaccurate...

Have to reinstall due to admin lockout.
forgot the password and now there is no way to change anything in the system. It’s a new setup so I figured the best thing would be to start over
