Google pop up virus

I’ve had a pop up on Google saying I have a virus. It automatically sent me to the pop up and came up with a text saying that my photos, contacts etc have been compromised. I pressed the button that said ‘ok’ because I couldn’t do anything else. I then cleared my search history and stuff like that. Can u get a virus from pressing that ok button?

FACT: You were on the Internet.

Translation: A fake popup appeared.

Nothing was infected because a popup from a website does not have the ability to access your system files, modify them, then demand payment to remove something that never existed.

Anyone can write an HTML popup with an image copy of the settings icon. ⚙️

This is a scam!!

No. As long as you didn't click a lick, nor provide personal information, you can't be hacked. It's much harder to hack an iPhone than you think. Much more expensive than you might think as well. Whatever site or app you were using, I'd get rid of. They are being paid by scammers to try to trick you into buying services/tools for services you don't need, for issues you don't have.

I deleted my search and cookies history for Google. I also deleted offloaded Google. Is that enough?

More than enough. I'm not sure you HAD to offload Google. Just avoid whatever site you were on, which earns it's income from scammers who prey on the innocent. Google didn't really send you the popup. The website you were visiting did.
