Unwanted PayPal Honey extension on Apple devices
I am a little confused to see a PayPal Honey extension on my safari browser and the PayPal app on my iPad. First, I don’t have a PayPal account. Second, I didn’t request it to be added to Safari or download the app to my iPad.
I did have to do a complete restore to my phone and iPhone Apple Watch in settings at the recommendation of a Genius Bar appointment. It corrected a severely shortened battery time with my watch. Prior to this correction my watch had only given me a 6 to 7 hour battery life. After the complete reinstall, the watch stays charged for up to two days.
Is this an app that Apple automatically installs? Is it essential in to running other apps? Can I safely delete the app? Can I remove the extension. I’m not a fan of PayPal. I did use them a long time ago and I had issues trying to remove a yearly subscription that I cancelled numerous times and popped up every year for three years straight. PayPal support did nothing but chastise me for failure to cancel the subscription. The first year, I accepted that maybe I failed to cancel the subscription service and begrudgingly paid the annual fee. I immediately cancelled the subscription, but was hit with the fee a second year. I contact PayPal and went through the steps to cancel the subscription again. I was charged the annual subscription fee a third year in a row. At this point I knew that I had cancelled the subscription and lost all faith in PayPal. I deleted my account and stop using PayPal. It stopped the annual subscription fee from being deducted from my PayPal account. Three years is more than sufficient time to get a company to correct a problem. I don’t trust PayPal and I am a little worried that Apple does.
