iPhone 13 pro screen on all time

I’ll even wake up in the morning in the **** thing will still be bright. Googled and Apple searched and just find things that tell me I need to turn the “always on” off – – but there is no “always on” toggle in my settings

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 18

The iPhone 13 Pro does not support the Always On Display feature. This feature was introduced with the iPhone 14 Proand later models.

If the screen remains on for an extended period on your iPhone 13 Pro, consider the following steps:

  1. Check Auto-Lock Settings:
    1. Go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock.
    2. Ensure it is set to a specific time, such as 30 seconds or 1 minute, to avoid the screen staying on indefinitely.
  2. Check for Apps Preventing Auto-Lock:
    1. Some apps, such as video players, navigation apps, or apps explicitly designed to keep the screen on (e.g., timers), can override Auto-Lock settings.
    2. Close the app to see if the issue resolves.
    3. Alternatively, check if the app has settings to disable this behavior.

I have the same issue -

i have an iphone 13 pro as well, and just updated to ios 18.3;

the display stays on, especially when charging, either wired or wirelessly;

there is no Always On Display (AOD) toggle on the Display and Brightness page;

Auto-Lock is set for 2 minutes, but the screen stays on past that whether charging or not;

there are no Focus settings or Do Not Disturb settings set;

this has been happening for over 2 wks, even before the ios update, which i hoped would have included a toggle;

yes, all Apple sites say AOD started with iphone 14, but Apple has obviously allowed it to be on previous iphones, at least the 13 pro, most likely due to an ios update;

as for what SravanKrA posted, it is not an Auto Lock thing, and i am not using an app that prevents the Auto Lock - though good things to check.

thanks for any assistance 🙂
