Is iCloud and Apple ID the same?

Normally your Apple ID and iCloud ID are the same combination of email and password yes. Though you can if you want to manually change one of them to a different account.

You can verify the accounts are the same by going in to Settings. Under your Apple ID, that will show what account is logged in for iCloud. The Email under your name is the one for the iCloud account that is logged in.

Then go to Settings ➜ Apple ID ➜ Media & Purchases ➜ View Account and see what email is being used there. That would be the one used for the iTunes and App Stores.

You can also have a different Apple ID for Messages and FaceTime.

iCloud is a collective term for a series of services offered by Apple. Some are free, others are subscription based. You get access to them using your Apple Account (formerly called an Apple ID, but that now only applies to the email address part of your log-in information).

Note that an iPhone 7 is an older device and cannot run the latest software with the latest features. Apple tends to only offer documentation with the latest in mind, so if you cannot find something mentioned in the manual your iPhone may not have it.
