MacBook Air Screen glitch

hello, I have a MacBook Air 2022 13 inch.

I have only had it for just over 6 months so am disappointed with the issue. I was allowing it to update and when I came back to check how much longer was left I found this big glitch on the left side. Ive never dropped it and there’s never been liquid damage to it either. I’ve tried restarting it but it’s still there.

Any help is much appreciated, I’ve only had this laptop a little over 6 months and I hope I don’t have to replace screen !

please let me know if anyone else has experienced this and how did you fix it !

The screen is clearly cracked. While it is hard to tell from the picture, there appears to be several small deformations in the aluminum at the top of the display which to me indicates an impact. It is hard to tell for sure from the picture, but I don't think they are just scrapes in the metal causing bright spots.

Regardless, there is more than one crack in the display so it is not covered by any warranty (even without any signs of damage to the aluminum I don't think Apple covers even a single crack these days...at one time they did).

If you have AppleCare+, then the repair would only cost $99US to have the Display Assembly replaced.
