I'm comparing quotes to replace the battery in my 2018 15" Macbook Pro A1990. as some companies are clearly profiteering.
What I would like to know is the approximate cost of the battery from Apple. I seem unable to find this.
Some guidance would be appreciated.

You can get an estimate from Mac Repair and Service – Apple Support (UK), although when I searched for the 2018 15" MBP it was not presented as an option. Nevertheless, those before and after it had the same figure which was £245

I did see this and my assumption is that this is an inclusive cost for the battery and labour.
I've had several quotes ranging from £135, through £199 to £299. The first is clearly not an Apple battery. The middle one specifically stated that it was Apple. The last is clearly profiteering.
I thought it would help to know the reality if I could identify the cost of the battery itself.
FWIW, I would not spend any money repairing a vintage, or soon to be vintage, computer.
