AirPods Pro 2 Adds 'Clinical Grade' Hearing Aid Feature not working in Belgium?

I purchased the new AirPods Pro 2 in December 2024 because of the hearing aid feature they were advertised to have (I know I have a slight hearing impediment). Although I was able to complete the hearing test, I am not able to find the hearing aid/hearing assistance feature on my iPhone. I understand that the feature is not yet available in the UK but I cannot find information about its availability in Belgium. Should it be available in Belgium? If not, why was this not indicated at time of purchase?

Apple provides this list (link below) showing the countries where the three new hearing health features (each listed separately) are available. The list seems to be kept up-to-date as the appropriate regulatory authorities in each country or region choose to approve use of one or more of the features.

Countries or regions where the Hearing Heath features are available:

AirPods Pro 2 - Hearing Health Feature Availability - Apple

Re: "I understand that the feature is not yet available in the UK but I cannot find information about its availability in Belgium."

In above list: The United Kingdom is listed under the hearing Test feature ( Belgium is not listed separately )

Neither the United Kingdom nor Belgium is listed for the hearing Aid Feature

The way I understand it, some authorities (like the FDA in USA (or Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) in Australia) take time in choosing whether or not to approve the use of features in their country or region.

Eg: In Belgium it may (or may not) be the Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (FAMHP)

Did you check online, or ask the AirPods seller before purchasing ?

We are all Apple users (like yourself) in the Community, so can not speak for Apple, and Apple is not here,

Seems Apple announced that features would become available as regulatory authorities in the various countries and regions approved their use. A large number of countries / regions approved their use before the software was released. Eg: Apple : Sept 9th 2024 Press Release

says

"New hearing health features will be available this fall for AirPods Pro 2 customers in a free software update when paired with iPhone or iPad running iOS 18 or iPadOS 18. Some features are not available in all regions." (Includes a link to the article / country list / at the top of this reply)

Apple already incorporated many helpful hearing features into its products long before the three new hearing health features that require regulatory approval were introduced. Features are still available:

Examples: Use Live Listen with AirPods or Beats - Apple Support

Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency modes for AirPods - Apple Support
