Can't Eject External Drives and SD Cards Safely

Ever since I updated to the newest MacOS (Sequoia 15.2), I repeatedly get the "a program is still using this external drive" error with options to either cancel or force eject whenever I try to eject an external drive, or a SD Card. Obviously I don't want to force eject and lose all of my data, but the only work around I've found is to log out and log back in, hoping I beat whatever is accessing the drive/card before it does. From my research it sounds like this is a result of Spotlight Search accessing the drive/cards, and there are posts of accessing the command terminal and giving it some code. I really dislike that idea, as I know very little about coding and don't want to mess up my MacBook Pro. Does anyone have any alternative methods to fixing this issue? Curious if I'm the only one.
