Historically, based on my many years here, screen protectors have probably damaged more Mac displays than they have saved.

Should a protector damage the screen, the only remediation option for an Macbook Pro Retina display is replacing the entire sealed display assembly. Even for the standard display, that service cost STARTS around US$550 for parts and labor on the smaller displays—and that is for the STANDARD display.

I doubt the seller of a screen protector would be willing to open their wallet to cover the display replacement or buy you a new computer.

I agree with leroydouglas and Allan Jones. Such a screen protector is unnecessary. You shouldn't be touching the screen.

I do recommend that you keep your keyboard clean. Wipe it down with a soft cloth when you're done for the day. This will help prevent anything you've gotten on the screen (finger oils, Cheetos dust, etc.) from getting on the screen.
