eSIM seems to have disappeared

I think my eSIM has disappeared. I have an SOS on the top of the screen and when I go to mobile data, it says use QR code or transfer from nearby iPhone I have Internet access but that’s it. I don’t know much about the Sims but how and why would it just disappear? I have Verizon. I haven’t been able to speak to them on the subject as my phone won’t work. I live by myself.
