Are there any cables available that can convert from Firewire to USB or Thunderbolt? I recently bought a new Mac Mini M4 and I need to connect my audio interface that is Firewire only, thanks.

Could an old Mac with a FireWire port possibly be used as some kind of intermediary in this case? For example, for file transfers to a more modern Mac via a USB flash drive, over a network, or even on a CD/DVD. If so, several relatively inexpensive Mac computers (both Intel and PowerPC models) can be found via online auction sites.
