I reset my password online but it doesn't acknowledge on Iphone

Hi there, I got locked out of my phone and apple account. I then went through the reset/recovery process to change my password for my apple id. I now am trying to get back into my iphone but when I put this new password it doesn't recognize it. It seems like it isn't synced. It says in the screen enter your password when you set up the phone. I have no idea what that would be and reason I went and did the reset. I'm not sure what I'm missing but I've been locked out of my phone for almost 3 weeks now (luckily I could get a temp one). Any ideas how to log into my iphone with the new password so I can get things back up and running? Thanks!

Maybe the password is not changed. Please try again.

iCloud uses Apple ID credentials.

If you do not remember the Apple ID Password then follow the steps given in this Apple Article -> If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support

If you are the owner or the owner has shared all information with you then to open Activation Lock:- If it is Activation locked, read here --> Turn off Activation Lock - Apple Support Activation Lock for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Learn how to remove a device from a previous owner's account.

If you are not the owner and do not have the Apple ID and Password then there is no way that you can get into this iPhone unless the original owner shares the Apple ID and password with you. If you are lucky you can get into this iPhone if they (owner) accidentally remove the device from their Apple ID.

okay thanks I'll look through some of these links. I've gone to various places and done various things. It must have changed as I'm logging into apple using the new password. I'll review some more and I guess the next thing is to find an apple store:) thanks!

If I remove the device in the cloud then I should not see the screen to login with the apple id on the phone giving me grief correct? Then I should be able to set up as if starting from scratch? I don't want to unlink and cause further havoc. Otherwise I may just need to find someone who can help as everything I do just doesn't seem to work
