MacBook Pro m2 Powers On Automatically When Lid Is Closed After Shutdown
Hi,
I’ve been experiencing an issue with my MacBook Pro m2 base model (running macOS Sequoia 15.2). Here’s the situation:
- When I shut down my MacBook and fold the display (lid closed), it powers on automatically after a while, even though I expect it to remain off.
- If the display is left open (lid up), the MacBook stays shut down as expected.
I’ve tried disabling Power Nap and ensuring no peripherals are connected, but the problem persists.
Additionally, I’d like to know if there’s a way to configure the power button to perform a complete shutdown when pressed, instead of just showing the shutdown dialog.
Do you have any suggestions on how to prevent the MacBook from turning on automatically when the lid is closed and how to set up the power button for instant shutdown?
Thanks in advance for your help!
