Time Machine only lists a day's worth of back ups

I have my MacAir running Sonoma connected to my backup hard drive and supposedly Time Machine is making constant back ups. But, when I go into Time Machine, I only see one day's worth of back ups.

Why are my Time Machine Backups taking so long? Running Sequoia on a MacBook Pro 2020. Backup to external drive monthly. VERY few local changes so, not understanding how monthly backups (to external drive) are taking so long: 3-4 hours. I have read that each backup is now a full backup and that incremental backups no longer exist. However, have also read the complete opposite. Anyone know for a fact what the story is? Should I just reformat hard drive and start from scratch? As I say, local changes are minimal yet TM has copied 32gb so far, with an hour remaining. i'd be surprised if there is a gb that has changed in month... so where is it copying all this from? Backup frequency in Time Machine How do I adjust the frequency of the automatic back ups in Time Machine on my Mac Book Pro. They are occurring hourly and I would prefer daily backups instead if possible so that they don't take up so much room on my Synology that it backs up to.

I find when I go in to Time Machine, I have to allow time for the Time Machine disk to access older backups. This may take (quite) a few seconds. Once they're accessed, they do appear on the Time Machine screen.
