iPhone diagnostic test for stolen and damaged interface

Recently had my phone stolen from me and received it back with multiple damages on a pristine phone. Not only is there damage to the outside but the interface is like off brand Apple.

Can we check iPhone for defects before leaving Apple Store? Hi, I am wondering if Apple allows us to check our iPhone before we leave. More specific, i want to open the box and check it in the Apple Store to make sure that there is no problem with the phone, and if it is i can easily replace it, does Apple allow this action.
