Mac running slow, maybe related to kernel_panic?

My Mac has been getting extremely slow sometimes. It always happens if I use Google lens or screencast. Sometimes it happens if I'm using a design software or have a lot of tabs open. I assumed it was a memory problem.

I ran disk-utility and etrecheckpro. There were a bunch of unsigned files which I deleted, but it says I've had multiple kernal panics. I've noticed a kernel process consistently taking up a lot of CPU in the Activity Monitor.

Is there a way to fix this or is it a hardware problem?

You have evidence of some pretty heavyweight Apps, ready to run.

But your Mac has only 8GB RAM, which is not enough to run Ventura and later in an appropriately responsive way.

if you continue to use this computer, you should run only ONE app at a Time. Don't leave your browser OPEN while you launch something else. Quit each app before you start another. And restart your Mac at least DAILY.

if you are using these Apps in a business, PLEASE have your business buy you a newer computer with more RAM memory. Apple no longer sells new Macs with only 8GB RAM.

No Mac needs a Virus scanner. The Mac protects itself admirably. You could store almost every virus known to man on your Mac, and it can not get infected unless you supply your admin password to make it so.

reconstructing your directories in case of lost files is left over from a time when small drives cost thousands of dollars each. The way to protect yourself from such losses today is to have adequate backups. Apple provides really good backup software, Time machine, for FREE. Attach an external drive and tell it to GO.
