What are the best VPNs for macOS users? Share your experiences and tips!

I'm curious to know which VPNs work best for Mac devices in terms of performance, security, and ease of use. Have you faced any challenges during setup or while using them? Also, what features do you think are most important for macOS users when choosing a VPN? Let's hear your recommendations and insights!"

I agree with the others if you want to use a VPN for a false sense of security. DON'T.

if you want to use a VPN to spoof your location, you will want one that provides a good selection of location options. I use Urban VPN Desktop. it can be found for free in the App Store.

two suggestions. first, if you are planning on accessing geo-locked content, check all of your local laws (federal, state provincial, etc) before starting. it is legal in Canada, but it may not be legal elsewhere on earth.

and second, when not in use, you should turn it off. it can drastically slow down your internet speeds when active.

Unless you are using the VPN to access resources on an employer's or school network, or access resources on your own home network that contains a VPN server.....a VPN is not going to provide you the privacy or security you think it will. With a school or employer, they will provide the VPN software for you. If you have set up your own VPN server to access resources on your home network, then you probably should already know what software to use.

Most VPN software being advertised to users is just to prey on people's fears to empty your bank account & fill the VPN developer's accounts. Plus many of those apps are selling your personal information or even exposing you & your system in other ways as well as possibly lessening the security of macOS in the process. And those apps may even be interfering with the normal operation of macOS where they may cause system & performance issues.

I suggest you review the information in the following article which will explain things in a bit more detail:

I also highly recommend people read the following article regarding safe computing habits. Even though it includes links to Apple articles, much of the information equally applies to any device & system...even a Windows PC.
