iCloud/Messages syncing between iPhone and MacBook CONTINUES TO BE AN ISSUE

Hi. I saw multiple threads about this over the years and I would just like to again raise this issue that seems to have still gone unfixed by Apple (per older posts - Apple instructs to make a new post if still an issue). The most recent thread with an appreciable number of responses was this one: Messages between Mac & iPhone not syncing… - Apple Community.

Again, I am reiterating the complaints in that thread. The solution posted, which was to manually sync messages in iCloud from iPhone and then do the same on the computer did work for me, but as that poster said, "Doing this, sometimes multiple times a day, is a pain, as is unknowingly missing messages, so I hope Apple fixes the problem soon."

I am currently on a 2019 MacBook Pro and iPhone 16, which means I will likely be in the market for a new laptop or tablet in 2025, and potentially a new phone in the next 1-2 years. But these kind of issues, and the fact that they have persisted for so long, makes me seriously second guess spending $2,000 - $4,000+ on new Apple devices.

Having my messages sync across devices is important to me - and clearly many others. I even pay a premium for iCloud+ and its additional storage.

APPLE, YOU UNDENIABLY HAVE THE RESOURCES TO ADDRESS THIS. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE!!!

The only fix I have found is to go to your phone - then Settings / Apple Account / i cloud / messages - and at the bottom of the screen hit ' Sync Now". I usually see that the phone has not synced to my Mac since the day before - so it seems that somewhere in the code, this function only happens every 24 hours unless it is triggered manually from the phone. Then I go to the MAC - do messages / settings / imessage tab / Sync now. Everything then is synced across both devices. My settings are "store messages in icloud / keep forever" and both devices are up to date with IOS 18.3 on iphone 15 and Sequoia 15.3 on a 2018 macbook pro. No re-booting needed - BUT - I agree - this needs a FIX. Should be automatic and instant the minute your MAC boots up. Like photos ( even though that is also really slow -would love a sync now button in the photo app as well )
