Changing wallpaper from lock screen isn't working.

Make sure your phone is locked. Tap and hold the screen but make sure that you DO NOT unlock the phone with face ID. Once the screen says unlock to edit at the top, tap and hold again. Then the screen should say face ID or enter password as shown in the pictures below. Now it would be okay to unlock the phone. Hopefully that works and you can change it. This doesn't fix the problem when the phone is unlocked unfortunately.

This step is wrong, who ever told you.

Open the iPhone with Face ID. DO NOT swipe up to open iPhone.

The pic below may help you.

In the first screenshot, there's no lock icon at the top and it says 'Swipe up to open' at the bottom. That means your iPhone is unlocked but not open.

If you swipe up and open it will not work. If the Screen is locked it will not work.

To change and customize your iPhone wallpaper, you'll need to unlock your phone first. If pressing firmly on the Lock Screen doesn't work, it's because your iPhone is still locked. Don't swipe up to unlock it entirely. Instead, just use Face ID to unlock it normally, and then you'll be able to access the wallpaper options by pressing firmly again.

If you’re having trouble changing the wallpaper from the lock screen, here’s a step-by-step guide that might help:

1. Start from the lock screen: Make sure your phone is locked.

2. Tap and hold: Tap and hold on the lock screen, but don’t let Face ID unlock the phone yet.

3. Wait for ‘Unlock to Edit’: When you see the message ‘Unlock to Edit’ at the top of the screen, tap and hold again.

4. Unlock the phone: At this point, you’ll see ‘Face ID or Enter Password’. Now it’s safe to unlock your phone.

5. Edit your wallpaper: Once unlocked, you should be able to edit and change your wallpaper as needed.

Important Note: This workaround only works from the lock screen. Unfortunately, if the phone is already unlocked, this method won’t apply.

Hopefully, this helps resolve your issue!
