TikTok not restoring iOS restore
Got a new phone today restore the new one from iOS backup. The great TikTok app is not restoring. Shows on the homepage but that’s it. Anyway to recover it with this madness going on?

According to Apple, TikTok cannot be redownloaded if restored to a new device.

I can confirm it’s not currently possible (in the US). I attempted with an iCloud restore, new device transfer, and also a full restore using a Mac, but alas they all produce the same result. Ultimately my “solution” was to just return the new iPad and deal with the cracked one.
You can (sort of) replicate the app by opening the TikTok website in Safari, tapping on the share button, and then “Add to Home Screen”. It’s not the same, but it does look like an app on your Home Screen and make the web version full screen.
Correction: I made an assumption about the web app, but it looks like TikTok does not have the proper headers on their web version, so it simply opens the site in Safari.
If you purchased a new device because of something like physical damage, and your old one still has the app, you may be able to get it repaired instead — although there’s always a chance they’ll need to wipe your device during repair.

As of January 21, 2025, TikTok remains unavailable on the Apple App Store for U.S. users, despite President Trump's executive order delaying the enforcement of the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act (PAFACA) for 75 days.
The executive order has provided temporary reprieve, but legal uncertainties and potential fines continue to prevent TikTok's reinstatement on App Store.

Good luck! 👋🏼😉
Not until the company which owns it shows Congress that they're taking steps to divest from the Chinese government.
