Can I backup tm and iphotos library (old iphotos) data to the same external hard drive? Early 2008, 10.6.8.......or is this only relevant on newer software?
I have read that saving an iphotos library on the same external drive as tm may cause permission issues. I am not clear if it applies to my very old computer. Does this cause permission issues problems on my old Snow Leopard that I use offline?

By default, the Time Machine backup will include the iPhoto library; if it's on an external drive, open the Time Machine pane of System Preferences, click on Options, and remove it from the exclusion list.
If you're trying to have a separate backup of the library, partition the backup drive and put it there.
Working copies of data and backups shouldn't be on the same drive; it may fail at any time.
