Wi-Fi calling on iPhone China variants with non-China SIM cards

Hi, i'm planning to buy Iphone in china mainland because it's not available in my country. I read that Wi-Fi calling is not supported in iphone china variants however i was wondering if i bought my iphone on China mainland, would the Wi-Fi calling work if i'm using my local sim card outside china (back in my home country)? is it depends on the simcard or is it a built-in feature?

Please help, i've been searching but i'm not able to find any answers for those of you who bought your iphone from china and using it in your own country, please let me know, thank you.

Even if a user posts to say that they bought a phone in China and Wi-Fi calling works with their carrier in Italy for example, that is no guarantee that Wi-Fi calling will work with your carrier in your country.

So, to get a valid answer to your question, you would need to provide the name of the carrier that you plan to use in your country.

Otherwise, you are going to get answers from users who "think" that the phone will do what you want, or say that the phone "should" do what you want, but they will not be able to say that the phone "will" work the way that you want.

Wi-Fi Calling is an option that is offered by some....but not all carriers.

It is not up to the phone.....it is up to the carrier to provide a Wi-Fi Calling option for their service.

So, if you want to know if the phone will work with Wi-Fi Calling in your country, a user who answers will need to know what carrier you plan to use in your country.

Sorry, but I do not think that I can help you. But, another user who sees this post might be able to help if they purchased a phone in China and they are also using the same carrier that you are using.

Otherwise, you cannot know if the phone will do what you want unless you try it out yourself.

I assume that you are aware that a phone purchased in China will not have warranty coverage in other countries.

Warranty coverage is subject to limitations and may be restricted to actual Apple Retail Stores. Since you’re in a country where Apple is restricting devices and services, you are probably aware of the limitations. You would probably have to ship the iPhone to a friend in China and have submit the item for warranty repair.

The hardware and firmware on iPhones sold for the Chinese market are different than those sold in other parts of the world. It is rarely (never?) a good idea to buy a phone there for use elsewhere.
