Discrepancy in step count between Health App summary and Show All Data

On one particular day my Health App is showing 3,448 steps on the summary but when I looked at the Show All Data it has 15,934 steps. What is causing this?

Make sure that your watch has priority in the health app as a source in the steps.

Open up your Health App on your iPhone, find Steps

Scroll down to Data Sources & Access

Scroll down to Data Sources

Make sure that your watch is on top of the list

Tap on "Edit" on the top right then you can move the data source up or down as needed.

You don't want to add all the steps from your watch and all the steps from your phone.

You want your watch and steps from your phone only when not wearing your watch.

In the Fitness app it will show steps logged on your watch

In the Health app it will show watch & if not wearing the watch while carrying your phone, the totals would be different that in the Fitness app.

In the health app if you always wear you watch it will show the same as the Fitness app, provided you always have your watch on. It will not show steps from your phone in the totals
