Getting repeated error "There is no application set to open the URL chrome" on macOS Sequoia.

No apparent logic to when they appear. I do note the string "pages" at top, but not necessarily running Pages when observed. Usually come in bursts of 3-4 on top of one another; some but not all generate a duplicate replacement when click Cancel. Happens several times daily, or not at all. ??? Help!
