How to access files from Time Machine after clean installing Sonoma from Sequoia

I made a Time Machine backup of my MacBook Pro running Sequoia 15.2, because that caused problems.

I then erased the disk and did a clean install of Sonoma 14.7.2.

Time Machine did not let me access my data. The folders have a red minus sign. If I try to open a folder it says that I have no permission to see it's content.

If I go to Get Info-> Sharing & Permissions it says I have no access.

What it does show is that it is "..... Fetching" the name that has read & write privilege.

How do I get to my data?

You don't look like you are in Time Machine. It looks like you are in Finder.

Hold down the Option Key and choose Browse Other Backup Disks from the Time Machine menu.
