How can I change the name of my Apple TV ?

I have several devices including an Apple TV 4K on an Apple Home network. When I added the Apple TV it has given itself the name of the room where it's located i.e Den (2). "Den" is the name of the HomePod mini in that room so I wish to change it's name to reduce confusion.

When I go to the Apple TV settings (Settings → General → About → Name) and change the name to "Apple TV" — it does not remember the change. Restarting the Apple TV does not make a difference.

I have confirmed all of my devices are on my home network.

Does anyone understand this problem.

Oops ... I just thought of a restriction I have with the naming of accessories (devices downlights, etc.) on my home network — where you can't give an accessory the same name as a room. I've just applied the same approach to the Apple TV and discovered that the solution was simply to use its full name rather than the shortened version. So I tried "Apple TV 4K" and it worked perfectly.

Clearly, if the Apple TV had just displayed a popup window saying that I can't use the same name as ... then the confusion could have been avoided. Not so user friendly anymore.
