M1 iPad Air not extending display

I use my ipad Air with the logitech folio touch keyboard case on a daily basis at work hooked up to a monitor to extend my display. All of a sudden a couple of weeks the display started to only mirror my display with no option in my display settings to extend or turn off the mirror display settings. I have never had any issues related to this before.

Ensure that you have enabled Stage Manager - as it is this feature that provides the extended desktop environment:

Settings > Multitasking & Gestures > [Multitasking] - select Stage Manager






Once Stage Manager has been verified as being enabled, you will find an additional Arrangement settings in Display & Brightness settings - where you can enable/disable screen mirroring:
